Our Apprentice Welder, Nathan Thorley has done it again!

Newcastle-under-Lyme College (NULC) held its annual awards celebration this week, where awards were made for outstanding contributions and successes. Nathan, who was highly commended at the Sentinel Business Awards earlier this year has walked away with the College’s ‘Outstanding Achievement – Advanced Apprentice Award’.

The Apprentice, who turned 21 this month,  has a commitment to learning and enthusiasm at Dustcheck that is clearly reflected in his college work too.

Nathan has recently completed the BTEC Diploma Level 3 in Engineering- meaning that strictly speaking he isn’t an apprentice any more! His decision to continue training since joining Dustcheck in 2013 reflects his ambition and drive.

Colin Alaimo is Engineering Lecturer/Assessor at NULC and nominated Nathan for the award: “It isn’t just Nathan’s practical skills that made him a good apprentice. He has a fantastic attitude to work and learning that will take him far,” he said.
