The position was created following Dustcheck’s acquisition of the business assets of Dust Control Solutions Ltd in May this year in a deal designed to strengthen the company’s presence in Scotland.
William has a strong engineering background and has worked in the dust control industry before. Recently, he’s been working locally in the diesel engine sector having previously spent 25 years in South Africa where he was a Regional Manager for Cummins.
Dustcheck is part of the Absolent Group which also owns oil mist extraction specialist Filtermist International. William’s role is a first for the Group in that he will be cross promoting products and services offered by all UK Group companies.
William will be working with customers on dust control, air filtration, oil mist extraction and fume extraction solutions. It is the first time the Group has had direct representation in Scotland and William is looking forward to using his skills, experience and knowledge of the area to quickly grow the client base.
“We have very ambitious growth plans for the next few years and the opportunity to expand our reach in Scotland will help us to achieve this. Having a local expert will enable us to increase brand coverage for all of the Absolent Group companies and will ensure we are better placed to provide a great service to all of our customers,” said Pete Dawson, Director of Sales at Dustcheck.
Founded in 2002, Dust Control Solutions already has an established supply partnership with a number of European manufacturers and customers in a range of industries including woodworking, distilling and oil and gas. The company’s client base was a significant factor in the recent acquisition so having William based in the Glasgow office is key to providing these customers with the service they deserve.
As well as William based in the Glasgow office there is also Project Manager David Henderson who, having worked with DCS for 30 years, will be providing continuity to existing customers. Filtermist also operates three Service Engineers also based at the Scottish Office.
