When a pharmaceutical manufacturer needed to extract fine dust from a tablet production line in its UK manufacturing and operations facility it employed Dustcheck to undertake the project.
Dustcheck, which has a wealth of experience of working with fine, hazardous dusts found in the pharmaceutical industry, recommended the installation of two ATEX rated AirGuard 36 'special' dust collectors.
The dust being controlled is classed as St 2 with a Kst rating of 201–300 bar·m/s meaning it could cause a strong explosion if ignited. Both AirGuard units were fitted with explosion vent panels to mitigate this risk and ensure compliance with the ATEX Directives and DSEAR Regulations.
