ATEX compliant Midi 160s replace old dust extraction

Two Dustcheck Midi 160 dust collectors have been installed to replace the old dust extraction being used by the Artificial Limbs & Prosthetics Department at a hospital in Wales.

Materials used by the department generate a variety of types of dust, some of which are potentially explosive, so needed to be controlled using ATEX rated LEV extraction equipment.

The two Midi units - 1 x SFKJ30-3.5-10 and 1 x SFKJ20-3.5-10 were specified, manufactured and installed to effectively remove GRP (glass-reinforced plastic), Carbon Fibre/Resin, and Plastics & Foams dust. Both units were fitted with explosion vent panels to ensure they comply with DSEAR regulations and the ATEX Directives.

The two units and all associated ducting were installed and commissioned by Filtermist's dedicated Projects team. As part of Filtermist Limited, Dustcheck benefits from the support and expertise from the wider Filtermist business.
